Sam H. Poteet, Jr.
Sam Poteet is a principal with Manier & Herod, practicing in the areas of surety law, financial institution bonds, fidelity law, directors & officers, errors & omissions, taxation, estate and business law. He is a frequent speaker at the ABA, Fidelity Law Association, and Southern Surety & Fidelity Claims Association meetings.
Mr. Poteet has been a Certified Public Accountant since 1986.
Mr. Poteet is the current Chair of the American Bar Association Fidelity & Surety Law Committee. Mr. Poteet has previously served as a Vice-Chair for the Fidelity & Surety Law Committee.
Mr. Poteet has handled surety claims and workouts/bankruptcy for numerous sureties. He also handles fidelity and financial institution bond claims and litigation. In addition, he has handled numerous purchase and sale transactions of businesses. Additionally, he handles estate tax planning for numerous large estates, many involving closely-held businesses.
Mr. Poteet is a Nashville Bar Foundation Fellow.
Mr. Poteet received his B.S. in Accounting (1979) from Tennessee Technological Institute and his J.D. (1982) from the University of Tennessee College of Law.
