T. Richard Travis
Rick Travis is a principal in the Corporate/Tax section of the firm. He is a native Nashvillian and graduated from Tennessee Tech University in 1979 and from the Duke University School of Law in 1982. Mr. Travis is a member of the Tennessee and American Bar Associations as well as a member of the Probate Court Sub-Committee of the Nashville Bar Association, past President of the Nashville Estate Planning Council, and served on a task force committee of the Tennessee Department of Financial Institutions to assist in drafting legislation relating to interstate branching, private trust companies, and state regulation of trust services.
Prior to joining Manier & Herod in 1994, Mr. Travis was Vice-President and Manager of the Nashville Trust Office for NationsBank. During his career with the Trust Department, he also served as manager of the trust real estate, tax, and estate administration responsibilities within that office. Mr. Travis' practice focuses primarily on estate planning, small business organization and succession planning, trust and estate administration as well as litigation involving fiduciary liability, will and trust construction and contest actions. Mr. Travis was recently selected for inclusion in The Best Lawyers in America in the category of Trust and Estate Attorneys.
