Karen Ashworth
Karen Ashworth is an associate with the law firm Manier & Herod.  She graduated from Rice University in 1987 with a B. A., and she was on the President's Honor Roll.  She earned an M. A. degree from the University of Alabama at Birmingham where she received recognition as the Most Outstanding Graduate Student in the School of Social Sciences for her research in gerontology and the issues confronting the elderly and their caregivers.  She earned her J. D. from the University of Alabama School of Law in 1994, where she was the Ethics Opinion Editor for the Journal of the Legal Profession. 
 
Before joining the firm, Ms. Ashworth administered trusts and estates for seven years as Vice President and Trust Officer for Bank of America, as well as for two regional banks in Tennessee and Alabama.  Prior to moving to Nashville, she practiced law in Birmingham in the areas of probate, estate planning, bank regulatory compliance and secured creditor's rights.  She is a member of the Tennessee Bar Association, Alabama State Bar, Nashville Estate Planning Council, and she is also a member of the Probate and Estate Planning Sections as well as the Entertainment and Sports Law Section of the Nashville Bar Association.  She will focus her practice primarily in the areas of estate planning and probate, trust and estate administration, and fiduciary liability.






Certifications of Specialization are available to Tennessee lawyers in all areas of practice relating to or included in the areas of Civil Trial, Criminal Trial, Business Bankruptcy, Consumer Bankruptcy, Creditors' Rights, Medical Malpractice, Legal Malpractice, Accounting Malpractice, Elder Law, and Estate Planning.
