Melissa Hughes is an associate with Manier & Herod practicing in the areas of surety litigation and workers' compensation. In 2007, Ms. Hughes graduated magna cum laude from the Calhoun Honors College at Clemson University in Clemson, South Carolina, where she received a B.S. in Political Science. After college, Ms. Hughes left South Carolina to pursue a law degree from the University of Tennessee’s College of Law. During law school, Ms. Hughes concentrated on Advocacy and Dispute Resolution, which allowed her to participate in the College of Law’s Legal Clinic. Ms. Hughes was the Managing Editor of Transactions: The Tennessee Journal of Business Law and Vice President of the Student Bar Association. In 2010, Ms. Hughes graduated summa cum laude from the University of Tennessee’s College of Law.
