Michael E. Collins
Michael E. Collins
is a principal in Manier &
Herod, practicing in the areas
of bankruptcy law, surety law, and commercial litigation.
He received his BA (1989) from the University of Tennessee in
Knoxville, Tennessee and received his JD (1993), magna
cum laude, from Samford University in Birmingham, Alabama, where he was
Article Editor of the Cumberland Law
Review. Mr. Collins
received his MBA (2000) with honors, from the Owen Graduate School of
Management at Vanderbilt University.
Mr.
Collins was formerly an Assistant U.S. Trustee for the U.S. Department of
Justice and a financial restructuring consultant with PricewaterhouseCoopers
LLP. Mr. Collins is a Certified Insolvency and Restructuring Advisor by the
Association of Insolvency and Restructuring Advisors. He is a member of the
American Bankruptcy Institute, the Association of Insolvency and
Restructuring Advisors and the Turnaround Management Association. Mr.
Collins is the recipient of the Kroll Zolfo Cooper / Randy Waits CIRA Bronze
Medal for finishing the CIRA certification course with the third highest
examination score for 2006. Mr. Collins is past Chairman of the Bankruptcy
Section of the Nashville Bar Association.
Mr. Collins has served as Chapter 11 Trustee of numerous business debtors,
including United Shows of America, Inc., Two Rivers Motors, Inc., Alliance
Leasing Corporation, and Advocacy and Resources Corporation.
Certifications of Specialization are available to Tennessee lawyers in all areas of practice relating to or included in the areas of
