Workers’ Compensation

Manier & Herod has maintained a practice in workers’ compensation law since the passage of the initial Tennessee Workers’ Compensation Act in 1919. The firm represents many major insurance carriers, along with a number of large self-insured corporations and third-party administrators. Manier & Herod's lawyers, nationally recognized in workers’ compensation matters, were instrumental in negotiation of the 1992 Tennessee Workers’ Compensation Reform Act.

The firm publishes a bi-monthly workers’ compensation newsletter, which is distributed to clients and other interested parties. The newsletter summarizes up-to-the-minute developments in Tennessee workers’ compensation law in both the courts and the legislature, and provides information on developments in medical and vocational testimony.

Manier & Herod’s workers’ compensation practice authored a workers’ compensation book, published in 1994 by the Tennessee Association of Business. This book outlines Tennessee Workers’ Compensation Law, incorporating the new provisions of the 1992 legislation. This publication is a practical handbook intended for use by business people and other clients who are confronted daily with questions pertaining to workers’ compensation claims.
