Manier & Herod actively recruits talented lawyers to enhance the firm’s practice. The firm hires both from its summer associate program and from practicing attorneys seeking to join the firm. The firm annually conducts on-campus interviews of second year law students at the University of Tennessee College of Law and at the Vanderbilt University School of Law. In addition, the firm accepts resumes from law students throughout the United States. The firm’s attorneys graduated from law schools throughout the United States, including Duke University School of Law, Emory University School of Law, University of Tennessee College of Law, Vanderbilt University Law School, and Washington University School of Law.

Manier & Herod offers summer associate positions to law students after their second year of law school. Manier & Herod’s summer program provides rising third year law students with diverse legal challenges and experience. Manier & Herod actively involves each summer associate in actual legal projects including commercial closings, pending litigation, research and writing, contract drafting, and other projects. Manier & Herod attempts to provide each summer associate with an experience similar to what can be expected as a first year associate with the firm. The summer associate program also provides each summer associate the opportunity to both obtain experience in various areas of the law and develop a particular area of interest. Daily interaction with Manier & Herod attorneys and social events during the summer allow each summer associate the opportunity to get to know members of the firm. 

A significant number of Manier & Herod’s attorneys joined the firm as lateral hires from other law firms and business industries.
